Abstract
Aims: To describe a rare pattern that may be confused with a fracture.
Study Design: Case Report.
Introduction: Bone anatomic variations may simulate fractures or may be a part of a syndrome. Recognition of these bony variants is important in order to avoid errors. We report a case of a congenital non-syndromic lunotriquetral coalition.
Presentation of Case: A 39-year-male was admitted in our institute with complaint of pain in right wrist since five days. There was no history of trauma prior to this complaint. Radiographs revealed a Minnaar type III lunotriquetral coalition. A symptomatic treatment was given, and the evolution of the patient was uneventful.
Conclusion: Clinicians should recognize this carpal coalition because it could be a part of syndromic manifestations or may be confused with a fracture. Treatment is usually symptom based.
